So much of how we connect with others and get the resources we need these days requires technology skills. DOROT’s Tech Coaching program enables older adults to learn and practice new technology skills with the support and guidance of a volunteer trained by DOROT in best practices for working with late tech adopters. Volunteers can assist with smart phones, tablets or computers.
Older adults and volunteers set learning goals and meet for multiple visits in-home, at DOROT, over videoconferencing or even the telephone. The program is designed for older adults to learn at their own pace with the overall goal of using technology to stay connected, and to get the services and resources needed to maintain independence. Visits can focus on learning common technology use such as new devices, Zoom, email, social media and entertainment, searching the internet (“Googling”), installing and using new apps and so much more.
Older adults who are looking for one-time coaching are invited to attend a DOROT Tech Coaching Meeting Up at DOROT to work on a specific goal with a tech coach. Inquire below for upcoming dates.

Tech Guides
DOROT has created a series of basic technology guides on a variety of topics, including Zoom, that are available to all. Designed for older adults, the guides have clear directions, are written in everyday language and include large pictures of what is seen on the screen during each step.
